A Full is 54 inches wide — 16 inches wider than a Twin, six inches narrower than a Queen — at the same 75-inch length as a Twin. Will it fit your room?
Allowing 24 inches of walking clearance at both sides and the foot of the bed, a Full needs a room of roughly 8'6" × 8'3" (102" × 99").
The Full is the size where width starts to matter more than length in a floor plan. It fits rooms that cannot take a Queen, but note that it is five inches shorter than a Queen, Twin XL or King. For a sleeper close to six feet, that shorter length is more noticeable than the added width is welcome.
